11th graders launch into the Voices of Change Expedition via the Kick Off at Bear River Campground. Here students engage with place-based curriculum centered on the proposed Centennial Dam project as well as interact with professional members of our community who hold a range of viewpoints about the proposed project. Then the 11th grade heads to Lake Tahoe for a three day dive into what it looks like, sounds like and feels like when people use their voice. Later in the semester the 11th grade will spend a day engaging with the staff at Capital Public Radio and touring CSU Sacramento.
The Spring 2019 Learning Expedition for 11th Grade is Revolutionary Energy. The capstone Fieldwork experience for this semester will be a week spent in the San Francisco Bay area. Here students will interact with engineers and artist, tour historical sites, visit colleges and museums and camp in the beautiful redwoods. Before this students will learn about their expedition by taking part in a kick-off event at the local South Yuba Club.
